Looking a lot like Christmas!

The snow is falling as I type this and it's definitely looking a lot like Christmas!  I figured it was time to update the blog since it has been forever since I did.

Christmas has taken on a whole new meaning this year for sure.  I really could not care less about gifts for myself.  It's ALL about Jackson. I did restrain myself and haven't bought much for him, but it has been hard. There is so much cute stuff out there!  The presents are stuffed under the tree and the kitchen from Santa is all ready to go.  The stockings are hung and are awaiting Santa's arrival.  :-)

The only thing that I'm feeling sad about is not being with family.  I love where I live and wouldn't want to change it, but I so miss going to Uncle Billy's house for Christmas Eve.  The excitement from the kids, the yummy food, the laughs....oh, the laughs!  We always have SO MUCH FUN together.  Maybe it's the rum punch.  Either way, I definitely miss being with family and can't wait for the day when Chad actually gets off for Christmas so that we can recreate those memories with Jackson.  Though, it will be fun to start our own family traditions.

Speaking of new traditions, we've started a few with Jackson this year.  He got Christmas jammies on December 1st.  (Most people around here celebrate St. Nick's Day, but I have no clue what that is, so I just chose December 1st!)  He got pictures with Santa.  He got pictures with Emma, Lexi, and Santa.  We'll go to church with friends on Christmas Eve and have dinner afterwards.  All of those things are the beginnings of new traditions with our new family and I'm excited for them!

And, no post is a post without a picture!  Here's OUR santa baby!

Seriously?!

10 things I hated about today:
1.  The hole in our less than one year old carpet is not covered by warranty.  Who knew that vomit isn't covered by carpet warranties?  This is sooo not over, Carpet One!

2.  Hwy 54 is partially closed so I had to drive on a road with eleventy billion other people at the snail speed of 25 miles per hour.

3.  It's a full moon.  'Nuf said.

4. My house still smells like dog vomit, no matter how much I clean the carpet.

5.  I forgot my lunch and had to have a disgusting "grilled" chicken sandwich at school.

6.  While making dirt cake, I put the frozen whipped topping in, which proceeded to fly across the kitchen.  After cleaning it up, I hit the on button when wiping down the Kitchen Aid.  Again, more flying food.

7.  Did I mention that dog vomit is NOT covered on a carpet's warranty?  Who knew?

8.  My house is atrocious.  And I'm too lazy to get up and clean.

9.  Daylight Savings Time blows when you have a baby.

10.  Okay, 9.  That's enough!  Really, I have a lot to be thankful for.  I've just had a bad day. (Got that song in your head now?!)  I mean, how can I have so much to complain about when I come home every night to this....

And so it begins

I always thought that the crazy moms who waited in lines for hours for Tickle Me Elmo, Cabbage Patch Kids, and Nintendo Wiis were a little off of their rockers.  Well, it's only Jackson's first Christmas and he's barely 9 months old, but I totally get it now.  You see, I've been wanting the Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Kitchen for a couple of months for Jackson for Christmas.  (Not as if he cares-he'll be thrilled with the paper, but I have a vision of our first Christmas and that kitchen is in it!)  It seems as if it has been discontinued so I haven't been able to find it anywhere!  I've searched and searched online, only to find the $70 kitchen selling for $200 or I've found it on Craigslist (USED) for over $50.  Clearly, it's a hot ticket item that Fisher Price shouldn't have discontinued!  Either way, I scored it today for regular price and am thrilled!  He'll probably only get 1 or 2 more little things because he doesn't NEED anything, but I just really wanted that dang kitchen.  I hope he likes it!

Well, it's time...

I created our blog months ago, when Jackson was just a twinkle in our eyes.  I thought it would be easy to update friends and family on a blog, but I never really got around to blogging.  Instead, I created our babysite page.  The babysite page eventually ran out of room so I created Jackson's Shutterfly site.  Of course, showing off Jackson is my favorite thing to do, but it seems like I always have something on my mind that I want to share, so, alas, it is time to start blogging!  You can expect random ramblings from my daily life about Jackson, the "girls", work, and who knows what else!  Enjoy!
